Our Fathers' Boots

The Sadness is shared, my dear friend,

Shared when I greet the staring faces in the obituaries' pages,

Shared when I hear a dear one has passed away,

Shared when I savour moments that echoes yesteryears' sighs,

Shared when old movies triggers memories long buried,

Our fathers' boots are too big for us to climb into,

We who are boys weighed down by time,

Can never hope to scale the same heights,

They who once stood so tall, they who once span all wall,
